Winter 2015/16

Here are the Winter fragrances for the 2015/2016 season!

Airing of Grievances:"I've got a lot of problems with you people, and now you're going to hear about it!" An integral part of the tradition of Festivus, the Airing of Grievances is when you tell your loved ones about all the times they have disappointed you that year. Definitely something to look forward to!
Fir boughs, musky sandalwood, vanilla, woodland moss, pine needles, ozone, frozen air, and holiday fruits.

Festivus: A holiday scent for the rest of us! Celebrants of Festivus typically aren't those who follow a prescribed path, and this fragrance is just for you! In addition to your Feats of Strength and your Aluminum Poles, you can now add "Festivus the Fragrance" to your list of holiday traditions. Festivus, yes! Bagels, no! Creamy Vanilla, Cedarwood, Eastern spices, Patchouli, Sandalwood & Powdery, faint Florals

Lumberjack: I'm a lumberjack, I work all day... a masculine evergreen scent straight outta the barber shop, and perfect for these cold wintry months. Balsam Pine, Bay Rum, Black Tea, Fallen Leaves, Musk, Valencia Orange, Spiced Rum, Vanilla

Twinkling Lights:Holiday parties and winter festivities, and everywhere you go, tiny twinkling lights abound. Champagne, Balsam trees, Fruitcakes, Oakmoss.

Krampus Klaus: Sure, everybody knows that Santa Claus visits all the good boys and girls on Christmas Eve, but what about the kids who've been nothing but naughty? They get a visit from Krampus- and this year he's dressed up as Santa! Ho ho OH NO D: Cracked leather, covered in chimney soot. Sticky silver Fir resin, glowing Amber eyes, and a polished wooden sleigh.

Snowbound: Blue Spruce, Cypress, Berries, Snow, Fir Needle, Birch, and Wood.

Joy: Sheer happiness in a bottle, a bright spot in the darkest time of the year. Orange blossom, White Amber, Pineapple, Frankincense, and Sandalwood.

O Holy Night: A gorgeous blend reminiscent of a Christmas Eve church service- Midnight Mass, if you will. Roses, Beeswax candles, Moroccan Cedarwood, Lavender, Labdanum, Vetiver, and Honey

Good Tidings: Pure, unadulterated holiday cheer. Warm, buttered oats, caramel cream, and honey make this a welcome respite from winter's chill.

Cookies For Santa: Cookies For Santa: Spicy gingerbread cookies, sweet faces drawn on them with vanilla icing, and a mug of warmed milk to wash them down with.

Sugar Rush: I couldn't resist. It's a Terry's Chocolate Orange scent, no whacking or unwrappping necessary! Chocolate, Vanilla, Orange, Milk and Sugar.

Starlight On Snow: Beneath frosty night air, a winter landscape set asparkle by shimmering starlight. Snow, light Musk, Ozone, frozen Forest, Tonka bean, and a hint of fresh Linen and Eucalyptus.

Jingle Bells: Brassy and Bright, a winter delight! Glowing Amber, White Roses, Sandalwood, Vanilla, Milk, Bergamot, and Cardamom.

Berry Merry: A fun, fruity blend sure to chase away winter doldrums! Spiced Plums, sugared Cranberries, tart Apple, Blackcurrants, and a touch of Woods, Violet, and Clove.

Snowdrift: Perfect after a day of sledding! Fluffy White Chocolate Marshmallows in a steaming mug of hot Cocoa, with a pinch of Peppermint and Coconut.

There are also a few fragrances which have returned from years past, but they're only available in a very limited quantity so I didn't want to list them here and get anyone's hopes up for a fragrance which may not be available. You can find them in the "Winter" section of the Etsy shop :)

Halloween 2015

Halloween listings are slowly making their way into my Etsy shop ; among the available products you'll find lots of old favorites along with a handful of new ones!

New this year:

*Apple Spider: Warm spiced apple cider doughnuts kissed with a glaze made of vanilla bean marshmallows. Too good.

*Black Cat: A feline friend with eyes as orange as jack-o-lanterns. This smells like a Fall evening spent toasting pumpkin-spiced marshmallows at a neighborhood bonfire, with dry, crunchy leaves underfoot.

*Will O Wisp: Ethereal musk, crushed Turkish figs, glowing red Sandalwood, and Cassis
Known by many names and written of in the stories of countless cultures, the Will o Wisp is a floating, dancing cluster of light which may be simply swamp gas ignited by an mystery spark, or a physical manifestation of otherworldly consciousness. Don't follow one wherever it may lead, whatever you do.

And, returning this year, from Halloweens past:

*Baba Yaga: The forest floor, fallen leaves, chrysanthemums, spiced black tea, dried citrus rinds, beeswax, patchouli, and a curl of smoke coming from the chimney she flies in and out of.

*Bobbing For Apples:  Fresh Apples, Apple Skin, Bonfire Smoke, Hay Bales, steeped in Tonka Beans.

*Boo Hag: Southern peaches, ripe from harvest. Palmetto fronds, cotton bolls, magnolia blossoms and Spanish moss, touched with a hint of incense and patchouli.

*Burning Times: Vanilla, Clove, Patchouli, Pink Peppercorn, a hint of Suede, Red Musk, Sandalwood, Cinnamon, Cedarwood, and the smoldering Embers of a thousand years.

*Calaveras: Named for the sugar skulls which adorn the Day of the Dead altars, this fragrance is sweet and spicy. Cinnamon, sugar, orange, and sweet breads dressed up with a smattering of dried roses on a sandalwood altar.

*Camp Crystal Lake: Deceptively still waters hide an unspeakable darkness just beneath the surface. Crystalline waters, Canoes, Carnations, Spruce forest, Sandalwood, and bone Musk.

*ChocoPumpkin: this is an awesome pumpkin spice and cocoa scent, which smells like a slice of pumpkin pie dipped in chocolate! Spicy cinnamon and clove notes, with a mellow cocoa absolute to balance them out perfectly. Think "Pumpkin Truffle" and you'll have a pretty good idea of what this one smells like. So good!

*County Fair: Ripe peaches, Macintosh apples, pumpkin pie, mandarins, black currants, raw honey, plums, Bartlett pears, just-baled hay, orange blossom, and white amber.

*Final Girl: A crushed corsage of Magnolias and Carnations, the Musky Cologne of a Maniac, a whiff of Oil from a freshly-sharpened Chainsaw blade, and the paralyzing scent of Fear.

*The Great Pumpkin: Spiced Pumpkin with lashings of Orange blossom honey, wild Roses clambering over ancient Oaks, Ginger, Frankincense, Myrrh, and Amber.

*Green Lady: Green Bartlett Pears, a basket of Figs, and an apparition of spectral Musk.

*Hayrides & Hijinks: A seasonally-appropriate addition to your fragrance wardrobe. I took everything you love about Fall (well, okay, maybe not EVERYTHING, because let's face it, that might be weird) and put it all in a bottle for you. Pumpkin spice lattes, a favorite leather jacket, a hayride past tobacco fields to pick the perfect pumpkin, and vanilla bean caramels.

*Jack. In Black: Charred, blackened, dirty pumpkin flesh, Arabian musk, Pomegranate, Tea, and a handful of penny candy snatched from an unsuspecting trick-or-treater's pillowcase..

*Ravensblood: The last blackberries of the year, dark musk, licorice spiked with clove, guiacwood, labdanum, sandalwood, patchouli, and a bright twist of lemon.

*Ritual: To help you focus your intention, a centering blend of heady resins and essences. Floral Champa, Copal, Dragon's Blood, Patchouli, Lemon, Sandalwood, and wisps of smoke.

*Seance: Nutty bold-roast coffee, heavy oak furniture, carved sandalwood totems, dried herbs, neroli, vanilla'd figs, and a wreath of clary sage to ward off bad spirits.

*Se7en: Damp, almost peppery, freshly-dug soil, rolls of sod, floral arrangements, Ferns, Woods, and an uninvited guest, watching from the outskirts.

*Slenderman: The cologne of a well-dressed man, hidden in plain sight among trees and ferns in a creepy copse, the creaking of a heavy mahogany door in an abandoned forest retreat nobody has entered in decades.

*Smashing: Sooty charred pumpkins, their smashed flesh strewn along sidewalks and on door stoops, dried apricots and figs, and a smidge of sandalwood.

*Spectre: Barely-there, an echo of the past? Or perhaps a supernatural visitor. Light and ethereal and perfect for cooler weather. Milk Sugar, Vanilla, and Tonka beans on a base of Skin Musk.

*Sticky Fingers: A light, white scent comprised entirely of foody notes. Keep away from children and pets and anyone who doesn't know better than to eat perfume. No, really. Creamy white chocolate, gooey marshmallow, a plump dollop of cream cheese frosting, tonka bean absolute, and warmed coconut milk.

*Sweet Tooth: Om-nommable. Pumpkin spice caramels, Milk Chocolates, Vanilla wafers, Orange-flavored hard candies, in an Amber glass dish.

*Talisman: An ensemble of herbs and essences worn to protect. Herbal and uplifting, this fragrance can be used as a personal fragrance on your skin or, if you'd prefer, use it for candle dressing and anointing. A mostly natural essential oil blend, save for the addition of a synthetic beeswax note. Lemongrass, Cedar, Patchouli, White Sage, Star Anise, Holy Basil, Ginger, Angelica Root, and a Beeswax candle.

*Treat: Sweet black currant syrup, Figs, Cream, Fresh Ginger, Dried Leaves, and Angelica Root.

*Trick: Sensuous, Floral Amber, Skin Musk, Sandalwood, Oak, Pomegranates, and Sweet Oranges and Plums.

*Who Was Phone: Dad's cologne, Powdery perfume splash, freshly-Shampooed hair, and a stolen bottle of red Wine from Mom's secret stash.

*Zalgo: The scent of those unnamed things which lurk and creep where we can't see them; say their names, and they will come. The Green scent of brush underfoot, murky grey Puddles, wilted, faded Flowers, ritual Herbs, sharp peppery Musk, tinged with Fear.

A handful of these won't be available in anything other than pefume oil this year, at least initially, and the quantities of those will be very limited- I had a limited amount of certain components needed to make these fragrances and with the number of scents being offered this year, I didn't want to go too nuts with the restocks. The fragrances only available in a limited amount are: ChocoPumpkin, Se7en, Slenderman, and Treat. Everything else is in good supply, so they should be available throughout the Halloween/Fall shopping season.

Summer 2015

Here's the official scent list for the OHWTO 2015 Summer collection.

Dune Rose: Fragrant wild roses tucked into rolling waves of sand. Salty ocean air, Rose petals, hot Sand, and Patchouli.

Solace: A respite for your weary mind! Hot lemon water, spiked with slices of fresh ginger, and sweetened with raw honey.

Candy Shop: Saccharine-sweet, this fragrance is reminiscent of walking into a candy shop, with endless loose bins of sugary goodies to tempt your sweet tooth! Blue raspberry Cotton Candy, Grape taffy, Mango hard candies, Lemon sour drops, gummy Blackberries, and more!

Escape: If you like pina coladas, and gettin' caught in the rain... well, you'll probably enjoy this fragrance! Beachfront breezes, fresh pineapple, cracked coconuts, sandalwood, papaya, and tropical fruits.

Kelpie: The Kelpie comes from Scottish folklore, and is a shapeshifting malevolent being who often appears as a horse. The horse tricks unsuspecting victims into riding it, but once they mount the Kelpie, they're unable to dismount, and the Kelpie then drags them to their death in the nearby water. A dark and beautiful blend of Oakmoss, Sandalwood, Spinach leaf, Ambrette Seed, Musk, Red Tea, Smoke, and a captivating all-natural Apricot essence.

Always Sunny: The Gang would want you to wear this. Bright and sunny, this grapefruit-based fragrance is perfect for wearing in warm weather, or just to remind you of it come Winter. Juicy pink Grapefruit, Mandarins, Yuzu, Basil, Geranium, Orris, and Neroli.

On The Road: An olfactory nod to a favorite summer pasttime, the great American road trip! This complex masculine blend contains the following notes, and more: Comfy leather seats, Hop extract, Whiskey, Litsea, Mitti Attar, Bergamot, Musk, Tobacco, Black Pepper, and Fir

Spring 2015

I know I am a bit late in posting this, but at least it'll be here for future reference ;)

Moth: Iridescent wings flutter and flit through the forest night, leaving trails of sparkling pixie dust floating in the air. A veil of sheer freesia and honeysuckle, lily of the valley, dew-laden mint, tree trunks, pine needles, and the forest floor below.

Butterfly: Colorful and bright, like a flower in flight. Ripe Apricots, Nectar, Mimosa blooms, Black Currants, Oranges, Melons, and a hint of fresh Mint.

Chirp: The first robins of Spring are always a welcome sight. A chipper blend of oriental vanilla, feminine musk, osmanthus, peaches, and violets, with hints of grapefruit and a very smooth oud accord.

Sprout: A fragrance for Spring, of new growth pushing through the remnants of last year. Wood violets, dewfruit, fresh earth, green leaves, lichen and moss, and delicate alyssum.

Spring Cleaning: Opening the windows on the first warm-enough day after a long winter is such an amazing thing to do. Out with the old, and in with the new! Clean laundry, spring flowers, redwoods, black pepper, patchouli, ylang, lindenblossom, and tart green pineapple.

Highland Crest: The clean scent of an Ocean breeze caught atop the seaside cliffs, the waves crashing against the rocks below, air ripe with Plumeria blossoms, Heather, and your well-worn Suede jacket to cut the chill. Leather/Ocean/Unisex

Rose Lemonade: Another classic OHWTO smell returns to welcome Spring this year! Yep, 100% inspired by the Fentiman's beverage of the same name, this fragrance is fizzy and floral and lemony with a slight undertone of gingery warmth. Try it with gin- the soda, not the perfume ;) Fresh-squeezed Lemons, Sugar, Rose petals, Geraniums, fizzing Soda water, Grapefruit, and a light touch of Amber and Ginger.

Maura Mae: A classic returns! Slightly reformulated, but still lovely as ever. With her curls of copper, her twinkling eyes, her sweet smile- this is what they mean when they refer to "The luck of the Irish". A sweet and fruity scent, Maura Mae is strongly apricot, with supporting notes of green clover, tea, cut grass, a sprinkling of field flowers- lily of the valley, violet, lavender, as well as a dash of berries, vanilla bean, and the faintest, tiniest, entirely lady-like nip of whiskey.

Silk Road: A heady floral-tea fragrance, heavy on the "green". Green Tea with tart Rosehips, Jasmine blossoms, and Silk, along with hints of Cucumber, Chamomile, and Kiwi.

Lucky: Crisp, juicy red apples, tart granny smiths, and rolling, endless green hills perfumed by nature awakening from her winter slumber. Spring is in the air!

Paradox: A curiously impossible blend of violets, coconut, and more, this intriguing scent will keep you sniffing your wrists for hours. It's food-y, but yet, it's flowery, but it's not, but it is. Or is it? Violets, Coconut, Coconut Milk, Madagascar Vanilla, Labdanum, Sandalwood, and gentle touches of Lavender, Valerian root, and White musk.

Blackberry Buckle: Unf. Fans of my "The Cake is a Lie" fragrance, prepare to have your worlds rocked. Blackberry preserves and fresh-picked Blackberries, Lemon zest, and Buttery crumbly Cake filling with a Spiced crumb topping.

Valentine's Day 2015

For posterity, here's the 2015 lineup of Valentine's Day fragrances in the OHWTO shop this year:

Heart Flutters: You catch a glimpse of them in a crowded room, or down a long hallway, or maybe on an internet message board. Your pulse quickens. Your chest grows tight. You can't... words. You're keenly aware of the beating in your chest, though- the rhythmic pounding of a trapped and frightened animal trying to break free from its cage. Maybe you should go to the hospital, you think, but no. There's nothing any doctor can do for you. This is love. Some might call it obsession, even. And for that, there's only one cure.
Softly romantic, perfect for setting hearts aflutter on Valentine's, or any other, day.
Fragrance notes: Honeysuckle, Sandalwood, Violets, White Patchouli, Vanilla, Rose, Musk, and clean Spring breezes
Be True: a romance-inducing blend of bouquets of Baby Roses, gifts of milky White Chocolate, luscious Raspberries, Vanilla, and a hint of Sandalwood to hold it all together.

Coeur de L'Hiver : French for the Heart of Winter, which is pretty much exactly where Valentine's falls, for many of us. A sturdy blend of Red cherries, White lilies, Rosewood, Sandalwood, and Amber.

Fall/Winter Dates to Remember

(repost from today's Newsletter)

Hey all!

No time for fancy formatting and pictures, but I wanted to get this info out there to help lessen any disappointing surprises for anyone. This is regarding my Halloween collection and the upcoming Winter one, so please make note of the following dates (which are tentative and subject to change if needed):

*Oct 24: Halloween Minis will be removed from the Etsy shop, this is the LAST day to purchase them.
*Oct 31: Halloween! This is the last day to purchase the Halloween collection.
*Nov 1: Halloween will be removed from the Etsy shop entirely. You will not be able to purchase anything with those scents until I have done an inventory of anything remaining.
*Nov 5: It's my birthday, and to celebrate, there will be cake. Or something ;)
*Nov 7(?): Any and all remaining Halloween inventory will be listed for sale. This will be the end of it, and no more will be sold. This date is tentative; I may list these items a few days earlier or later, depending on when I can get to it. They'll be in the "SALE" section in the shop. If more items pop up after the initial "final listing", they'll be added as I realize their existence.
*Nov 15: Winter will go live. Minis will not be available immediately, but never fear, they will be added a week or two after the initial rush dies down. I am HOPING to get 1mL samples made beforehand and listed when this collection goes live, but don't hold me to that. I'd wanted to do it for Halloween this year, but that plan didn't work out so well, heh.
*Nov 28: BLACK FRIDAY. Yes, there will be a sale. Cyber Monday, too. I may add a few flash sale codes on Saturday and/or Sunday, too- those codes will be posted on Twitter (@OHWTOcom) and Instagram (@OHWTO) if they happen, so be sure you're following me on one or the other- there will be no newsletter regarding the flash sale codes and if you miss them then I will not honor them after the fact- I'll be way too busy, sorry. I will probably be disabling the minis during the BF/CM sales period, but there will be plenty of other goodies for you guys.

In addition to the Winter collection, I'll be adding a few new full-timey things to the shop in the upcoming weeks, so keep your eyes peeled for those :D I expect Winter to be available through February, maybe March, so there'll be plenty of time to get your hands on things before Spring is released.

Halloween 2014

(An excerpt from the OHWTO newsletter- for my records, and yours)

New this year:

Hayrides & Hijinks

Returning from the crypt are:

Final Girl
Bobbing for Apples
Burning Times
County Fair
Jack. In Black.
Sticky Fingers

A few fragrances from Halloweens past were made in small amounts, but I will not be including them in this year's full offerings (though you might be able to convince me to pour a few more bottles of these). There'd be way too many scents if I kept them all and I'd never be able to keep up, so I had to make some cuts somewhere. These are the casualties. There's a few bottles of these scents up in the Etsy shop, and when they're gone, they're gone until next year at the earliest. They are:

Green Lady
Poison Apple
Sweet Tooth
The Great Pumpkin
Who Was Phone
