Summer 2015

Here's the official scent list for the OHWTO 2015 Summer collection.

Dune Rose: Fragrant wild roses tucked into rolling waves of sand. Salty ocean air, Rose petals, hot Sand, and Patchouli.

Solace: A respite for your weary mind! Hot lemon water, spiked with slices of fresh ginger, and sweetened with raw honey.

Candy Shop: Saccharine-sweet, this fragrance is reminiscent of walking into a candy shop, with endless loose bins of sugary goodies to tempt your sweet tooth! Blue raspberry Cotton Candy, Grape taffy, Mango hard candies, Lemon sour drops, gummy Blackberries, and more!

Escape: If you like pina coladas, and gettin' caught in the rain... well, you'll probably enjoy this fragrance! Beachfront breezes, fresh pineapple, cracked coconuts, sandalwood, papaya, and tropical fruits.

Kelpie: The Kelpie comes from Scottish folklore, and is a shapeshifting malevolent being who often appears as a horse. The horse tricks unsuspecting victims into riding it, but once they mount the Kelpie, they're unable to dismount, and the Kelpie then drags them to their death in the nearby water. A dark and beautiful blend of Oakmoss, Sandalwood, Spinach leaf, Ambrette Seed, Musk, Red Tea, Smoke, and a captivating all-natural Apricot essence.

Always Sunny: The Gang would want you to wear this. Bright and sunny, this grapefruit-based fragrance is perfect for wearing in warm weather, or just to remind you of it come Winter. Juicy pink Grapefruit, Mandarins, Yuzu, Basil, Geranium, Orris, and Neroli.

On The Road: An olfactory nod to a favorite summer pasttime, the great American road trip! This complex masculine blend contains the following notes, and more: Comfy leather seats, Hop extract, Whiskey, Litsea, Mitti Attar, Bergamot, Musk, Tobacco, Black Pepper, and Fir

Spring 2015

I know I am a bit late in posting this, but at least it'll be here for future reference ;)

Moth: Iridescent wings flutter and flit through the forest night, leaving trails of sparkling pixie dust floating in the air. A veil of sheer freesia and honeysuckle, lily of the valley, dew-laden mint, tree trunks, pine needles, and the forest floor below.

Butterfly: Colorful and bright, like a flower in flight. Ripe Apricots, Nectar, Mimosa blooms, Black Currants, Oranges, Melons, and a hint of fresh Mint.

Chirp: The first robins of Spring are always a welcome sight. A chipper blend of oriental vanilla, feminine musk, osmanthus, peaches, and violets, with hints of grapefruit and a very smooth oud accord.

Sprout: A fragrance for Spring, of new growth pushing through the remnants of last year. Wood violets, dewfruit, fresh earth, green leaves, lichen and moss, and delicate alyssum.

Spring Cleaning: Opening the windows on the first warm-enough day after a long winter is such an amazing thing to do. Out with the old, and in with the new! Clean laundry, spring flowers, redwoods, black pepper, patchouli, ylang, lindenblossom, and tart green pineapple.

Highland Crest: The clean scent of an Ocean breeze caught atop the seaside cliffs, the waves crashing against the rocks below, air ripe with Plumeria blossoms, Heather, and your well-worn Suede jacket to cut the chill. Leather/Ocean/Unisex

Rose Lemonade: Another classic OHWTO smell returns to welcome Spring this year! Yep, 100% inspired by the Fentiman's beverage of the same name, this fragrance is fizzy and floral and lemony with a slight undertone of gingery warmth. Try it with gin- the soda, not the perfume ;) Fresh-squeezed Lemons, Sugar, Rose petals, Geraniums, fizzing Soda water, Grapefruit, and a light touch of Amber and Ginger.

Maura Mae: A classic returns! Slightly reformulated, but still lovely as ever. With her curls of copper, her twinkling eyes, her sweet smile- this is what they mean when they refer to "The luck of the Irish". A sweet and fruity scent, Maura Mae is strongly apricot, with supporting notes of green clover, tea, cut grass, a sprinkling of field flowers- lily of the valley, violet, lavender, as well as a dash of berries, vanilla bean, and the faintest, tiniest, entirely lady-like nip of whiskey.

Silk Road: A heady floral-tea fragrance, heavy on the "green". Green Tea with tart Rosehips, Jasmine blossoms, and Silk, along with hints of Cucumber, Chamomile, and Kiwi.

Lucky: Crisp, juicy red apples, tart granny smiths, and rolling, endless green hills perfumed by nature awakening from her winter slumber. Spring is in the air!

Paradox: A curiously impossible blend of violets, coconut, and more, this intriguing scent will keep you sniffing your wrists for hours. It's food-y, but yet, it's flowery, but it's not, but it is. Or is it? Violets, Coconut, Coconut Milk, Madagascar Vanilla, Labdanum, Sandalwood, and gentle touches of Lavender, Valerian root, and White musk.

Blackberry Buckle: Unf. Fans of my "The Cake is a Lie" fragrance, prepare to have your worlds rocked. Blackberry preserves and fresh-picked Blackberries, Lemon zest, and Buttery crumbly Cake filling with a Spiced crumb topping.

Valentine's Day 2015

For posterity, here's the 2015 lineup of Valentine's Day fragrances in the OHWTO shop this year:

Heart Flutters: You catch a glimpse of them in a crowded room, or down a long hallway, or maybe on an internet message board. Your pulse quickens. Your chest grows tight. You can't... words. You're keenly aware of the beating in your chest, though- the rhythmic pounding of a trapped and frightened animal trying to break free from its cage. Maybe you should go to the hospital, you think, but no. There's nothing any doctor can do for you. This is love. Some might call it obsession, even. And for that, there's only one cure.
Softly romantic, perfect for setting hearts aflutter on Valentine's, or any other, day.
Fragrance notes: Honeysuckle, Sandalwood, Violets, White Patchouli, Vanilla, Rose, Musk, and clean Spring breezes
Be True: a romance-inducing blend of bouquets of Baby Roses, gifts of milky White Chocolate, luscious Raspberries, Vanilla, and a hint of Sandalwood to hold it all together.
Gourmand/Fruity/Feminine

Coeur de L'Hiver : French for the Heart of Winter, which is pretty much exactly where Valentine's falls, for many of us. A sturdy blend of Red cherries, White lilies, Rosewood, Sandalwood, and Amber.
Woody/Fruity/Feminine

Fall/Winter Dates to Remember

(repost from today's Newsletter)

Hey all!

No time for fancy formatting and pictures, but I wanted to get this info out there to help lessen any disappointing surprises for anyone. This is regarding my Halloween collection and the upcoming Winter one, so please make note of the following dates (which are tentative and subject to change if needed):

*Oct 24: Halloween Minis will be removed from the Etsy shop, this is the LAST day to purchase them.
*Oct 31: Halloween! This is the last day to purchase the Halloween collection.
*Nov 1: Halloween will be removed from the Etsy shop entirely. You will not be able to purchase anything with those scents until I have done an inventory of anything remaining.
*Nov 5: It's my birthday, and to celebrate, there will be cake. Or something ;)
*Nov 7(?): Any and all remaining Halloween inventory will be listed for sale. This will be the end of it, and no more will be sold. This date is tentative; I may list these items a few days earlier or later, depending on when I can get to it. They'll be in the "SALE" section in the shop. If more items pop up after the initial "final listing", they'll be added as I realize their existence.
*Nov 15: Winter will go live. Minis will not be available immediately, but never fear, they will be added a week or two after the initial rush dies down. I am HOPING to get 1mL samples made beforehand and listed when this collection goes live, but don't hold me to that. I'd wanted to do it for Halloween this year, but that plan didn't work out so well, heh.
*Nov 28: BLACK FRIDAY. Yes, there will be a sale. Cyber Monday, too. I may add a few flash sale codes on Saturday and/or Sunday, too- those codes will be posted on Twitter (@OHWTOcom) and Instagram (@OHWTO) if they happen, so be sure you're following me on one or the other- there will be no newsletter regarding the flash sale codes and if you miss them then I will not honor them after the fact- I'll be way too busy, sorry. I will probably be disabling the minis during the BF/CM sales period, but there will be plenty of other goodies for you guys.

In addition to the Winter collection, I'll be adding a few new full-timey things to the shop in the upcoming weeks, so keep your eyes peeled for those :D I expect Winter to be available through February, maybe March, so there'll be plenty of time to get your hands on things before Spring is released.

A few fragrances from Halloweens past were made in small amounts, but I will not be including them in this year's full offerings (though you might be able to convince me to pour a few more bottles of these). There'd be way too many scents if I kept them all and I'd never be able to keep up, so I had to make some cuts somewhere. These are the casualties. There's a few bottles of these scents up in the Etsy shop, and when they're gone, they're gone until next year at the earliest. They are:

Green Lady
Poison Apple
Se7en
Smashing
Sweet Tooth
The Great Pumpkin
Who Was Phone

Stock Fragrance List

Stock Fragrances

Here is a list of my "Stock" fragrances. There are single note, or designer dupe, or sometimes supplier-exclusives which I thought were nice enough to sell on their own.

Be Delicious: Begins with top notes of apple, cucumber, and yuzu; followed by middle notes of magnolia, tuberose, lily of the valley, and fresh cut roses; with base notes of sandalwood and white amber.
*Beach: smells like a day at the beach, the main scent being Coppertone suntan lotion (really!!). I got it to use in soaps and scents for those nasty cold days in February where all you want to do is escape the cold and lay out on the sand, it's one of those "take me to summer RIGHT NOW" scents :)
*Beguiled: A captivating blend of violets and jasmine, hints of citrus, spice, and vanilla help to round out the scent and transform it from simply floral to something that is SO much more. A dupe for L*sh's Bathos.
*Big DaddyAn intoxicating blend of Tobacco Blossom, Mandarin, Honey, Rose, Caramel, this is a slightly spicy, slightly sweet, slightly musky, and very manly scent, despite what its notes might say to the contrary. Reminds me of what a man should smell like, but it could totally work on the right female, too.
*Black Amber Lavender: Deep and sophisticated, this fragrance blends blackened Amber with a bold Parisian Lavender. Myrrh, Vanilla, Tonka Bean, and Egyptian Musk round it out while a splash of raw Clary Sage adds an herby note to the mix. Earthy, sweet, floral- and highly intoxicating.
*Black Raspberry & Vanilla: Raspberry, Peach, Lemon & Strawberry on a bed of flowers and musks.
*Black Cherry Merlot: A delightful blend of cherry, black raspberry, and an aromatic merlot. BBW dupe.
*Blue Sugar: An Aquolina duplicate, this one is aimed at the male market, though both men and women are equally drawn to this wonderful fragrance. Fresh citrus creates a shimmering lift for this sensual vanilla based scent.  A romantic floral bouquet at the heart of the fragrance intertwines with fresh green tones and rich patchouli.  The vanilla signature at the base of the scent is balanced with soft musk and warmed by exotic woody tones for lingering sensuality.
*Coconut: What would the tropics be without coconut? A true toasted coconut scent, not a suntan lotion type of coconut.
*Dark Kiss: It's absolutely enchanting, like a grownup version of a fruit scent ("musky plum" is what comes to mind but that's not a very sexy name for a fragrance), with a hint of perfume that's not too overpowering. Contains notes of Mirabella Plum, Black Raspberry, Amber, Peony, Vanilla Bean, Sensual Musk, and Fresh Spun Cotton Candy for a touch of something sweet.
*Faerie Dust: Smells like a Snow Fairy! The essence of crystalline sugar dust with a hint of sweet vanilla at the base.
*Fluff
A fascinating fragrance oil which is a blend of juicy bubblegum, cotton candy, juicy apples and pears blended together with sugared candy lemon drops meshed with crushed Madagascar vanilla. A dupe for L*sh'd "Candy Fluff".
*Forever Red: Bursting red pomegranate accented with notes of osmanthus and fluffy sweet marshmallow.
*Fresh SnowThis fragrance mimics the feeling of peace and tranquility after a fresh snowfall. It is a very ozone-y fragrance, reminiscent of clean laundry or fresh cotton. This fragrance has a crisp heliotrope top with supporting notes of sprint water, juniper berry, vetiver and sandalwood.
*Gimme Shelter: Like a big fluffy Comforter to wrap up in! Instant relaxation with this uplifting and comforting fragrance with its notes of fresh citrus tones of orange and bergamot leading to the warm heart. Soft floral tones combine with clove and cinnamon as leafy green accents add dramatic texture to the blend. An earthy element is created with patchouli, while fresh minty pennyroyal lifts the spicy tones. Sweet vanilla and soft musk are carefully balanced at the base of the scent. Top notes: orange, bergamot, clove, mint. Middle notes: floral, spice, green, patchouli. Bottom notes: musk, vanilla.
*Ginger Ale: This one smells JUST LIKE ginger ale, and I always get thirsty when I smell it. You'll swear that there are bubble tickling your nose when you get a whiff of this one! This is my "go to" soap scent when I don't know what I want to wash with, it's clean and refreshing and I just adore it.
*Ginger Tea (White Tea & Ginger BBW Type): This fragrance has a delightful warm and comforting smell. With top notes of Bergamot, Lemon Peels and Green Daylilies, this fragrance is brought back to its roots with a base of Ginger, Nutmeg and Warm Musk. White floral notes, such as Hyacinth, Freesia and Peony complete the mix.
*Grass Stain: This scent is fresh, clean and vibrant. Remember your childhood, frolicking in the grass, rolling down grassy hills and playing on the swing set at the park? This is the fragrance to bring it all back. It's crisp, sweet and green.
*Hello Sugar: Notes of sugar, lemon, and shortbread, this BBW dupe for the fragrance of the same name is absolutely delightful, citrusy-sweet perfection.
*Honey Crisp: Delectable honey and toffee scent are supported by background notes of fruit and musk. Top notes: citrus, honey-floral bouquet. Middle notes: peach, apple, toffee. Bottom notes: woody, musky. A dupe of Honey I washed the Kids by L*sh.
*Iced Tea Twist: Bright notes of lemon and orange are intertwined with fresh tea leaves and sugar. A BBW dupe for Iced Tea Twist, and apparently also for London Calling, according to some.

*Kettle Corn: Smells like the country fair! An enticing blend of melted butter, salt, brown sugar and popcorn that's sure to get your mouth watering.
*L de' Lolita: A luxurious blend of fresh citrus notes of lemon and orange with cashmere and sandalwood.
*Lemon Sugar(a Fresh dupe): Sweet sugar and fresh-cut lemons- it doesn't get much fresher than this! You'll smell: Italian Bergamot, Yuzu, Mandarin, Lychee Flower, Orange Blossom, Ginger Flower, Oak Moss, Caramel & White Santal... but mostly, lemon and sugar.
*Lilac: This is a wonderfully lilac-y fragrance, not artificial and not TOO strong, just like the real thing. My bottle leaked a bit during shipping and when my package arrived, my whole front entry smelled of fresh-cut lilacs. Normally I'm not a fan of the super floral scents, but I've made an exception for this one- it's great.
*Lovespell: A lavishly lush blend of orange, peach, cherry blossom and white jasmine.
*Mayan Gold: This blend of patchouli, plumeria and sweet orange has hints of vanilla, musk, and chocolate, and is a marvelously unisex scent.
*Melondramatic: This smells like ripe, juicy cantaloupe, watermelon, and honeydew melons.Supporting top notes of Japanese Grapefruit, Crisp Apple and Pomelo bring a bright and cheery melding to the bottom note of Tonka Bean. The secret ingredient to this fragrance is Tonic Water. (formerly called "Summer Melon Spritzer; if you have that one already, then you also have this one)
Moonlight Path: A BBW dupe, it's described as a sensual women's fragrance infused with lavender, violets, and light musk.
*Nirvana: So this is what Karma smells like! A powdery blend of Dragon's Blood and Patchouli.
*OMG Flowers: A duplicate of the lovely Viktor&Rolf fragrance "Flowerbomb", OMG Flowers showcases bloom after bloom, containing a floral symphony of jasmine, freesia, orchid, rose, tea, patchouli, woody musk and vanilla. When you smell this you're going to say, "OMG Flowers!" The florals are in there, but the woody musk and patchouli balance them nicely, making them less overwhelming. A mysterious and alluring scent, and a floral sure to please even professed haters of all things flowery.
*OMG Olive: The scent of an Olive Branch- Bright citrus fruits of lemon and bergamot intertwined with leafy olive branches softened with musk and sweetened ever so lightly with vanilla.
Orange Sapphire: A BBW dupe, Orange Sapphire is described as "Radiant droplets of blood orange shimmer upon sweet sparkling cassis. Sugary nectar and citrus sangria trickle over coral rose petals."
*Pink Lady (Aquolina Pink Sugar Type): a scent which evokes sensuality, gentleness, and passion. It has notes of pink cotton candy, sweet lemon drops, raspberries, fig leaves, caramel, Sicilian orange, Barbe-a-Papa, Lily of the Valley, and powdery vanilla musk. Playful, mischievous, romantic.
*Red Apple: This one smells just like its name; this scent is actually a blend of a few varieties of Red Apple scents, along with some notes of Green Apple to temper the sweetness. The Green Apple notes add some wonderful depth and tartness to the scent. A great fall fragrance alternative.
*Salty Mariner: Salty marine notes and fresh rain mingle with lily of the valley, jasmine, leafy greens, pine and musk. Experience the beautifully mastered essence of the thunder of waves crashing against the shore, the salty air in your face and the soft crunch of seashells beneath your feet. Imagine yourself at sea, with your face being lightly sprinkled with ocean spray.
*Satsuma(Body Shop type): A sweet Japanese citrus fruit, this is the sweetest citrus scent I've ever smelled. It reminds me of clementines at Christmas.
*Scurvy Dog: A dupe for the discontinued "Bay Rum" scent from Burt's Bees, this is hands-down the best bay rum I've ever smelled. In addition to the requisite Bay and Rum notes, you get patchouli and orange and spices and piratey pirateness... Mmmm.
*Shambhala: An almost spiritual olfactory experience, this amber-based fragrance is laced with rich vanilla and spicy cardamom. A dupe of "Ambra del Nepal".
*Spellbound Woods: A blend of Vanilla, Sandalwood, Amber, Cedarwood and the barest hint of a light Floral on the dry down.

*Sun-Ripened Cherry: Tart, bright, red cherries, perfectly ripened in the warmth of the sun. Much lighter and fresher than a black cherry fragrance.
*Tart: Creamy vanilla and tart candy notes make up this mouth-watering fragrance. Seriously, get your drool bib ready before using this one, it's that good. A dupe for L*sh's Rock Star (available in bar soap as "No Such Thing as Rock Stars").
*Two Bits: This fragrance is reminiscent of a beloved grandpa, after a shave and haircut at the barber shop. Heart notes of amber and rum with a light top note of musk and Bay make this irresistible! Like a softer, more gentle version of a Bay Rum fragrance, smells great on the guys but there's plenty of ladies who also adore wearing this scent themselves.
*Vanilla: This is a super sweet and rich vanilla scent, almost more of a buttercream than a vanilla.
*Victorian Rose: Stroll through a true rose garden, down paths lined with rose bushes and beneath trellises laden with climbing roses in full bloom, and you'll have an idea of what this fragrance smells like.
*Viva La Juicy!: After reading the descriptions of what this boutique fragrance duplicate smells like, I HAD to get it for my shop. It's fruity and floral, with the two balanced very nicely. You'll smell wild berries and mandarins, honeysuckle, gardenia, and jasmine, complimented nicely by notes of amber, vanilla, sandalwood, and praline. It sounds like there's a lot going on in this one, and there is- it reminds me of Pink Lady, in that it smells a little different every time you sniff it. This one is definitely a fun fragrance to wear.
*Volcanic: Tropical fruits, sugared oranges, lemons and limes, redolent with lightly exotic mountain greens. Cabri Blue dupe.
*White Lily: A strong white floral, smells like its name implies.
*White Pineapple: A tropical infusion of sweet white pineapple and blooming passion flower, topped with a twist of juicy mango. BBW dupe.
*Wild Strawberry: A true candy-type strawberry scent, this one especially reminds me of strawberry bubblegum.
*Yuzu: Yuzu is a Japanese citrus fruit. This scent has wonderful sparkling overtones of grapefruit, citron, and a hint of mandarin orange.
